Who are we? | La Récolte des Cantons

La Récolte des Cantons is a market-garden farm where we grow lettuces, tomatoes and cucumbers in greenhouses twelve months a year. We also grow garlic, asparagus, blueberries and many other field vegetables in addition to producing maple syrup in our 6,000-tap maple grove.

Our roots

Founded in 2009, La Récolte des Cantons took over the existing farm, once known as La Récolte des Elfs. At the outset, the greenhouse operation covered around 600 m2 and strawberries were grown in the field. To meet growing demand, the greenhouse area was increased to around 1,000 m2 in 2011 and then again to 2,300 m2 in 2014. This allowed for a longer growing season, with tomatoes from May to December, cucumbers from April to September and lettuce all year round.

Located on Route 139 in the Adamsville sector of the town of Bromont, La Récolte des Cantons sells its produce directly from the farm as well as in local grocery stores and restaurants. Customers can also pick up fresh produce and local products in the 80 m2 seasonal kiosk.

Something new

Taken over in September 2020 by Benjamin, La Récolte des Cantons went through a transformation. The greenhouse area was increased to 2,800 m2, tomato production was extended from March to December, and construction of a new boutique began in April 2022. The farm was at a crossroads: either reduce its customer base or expand to meet demand. It was decided to build a new greenhouse to produce hydroponic lettuce twelve months a year.

As the "eat local" movement grew, the decision to build a market where locals could buy almost all their groceries was an easy one. The project kicked off with a groundbreaking ceremony in April 2022. A mere six months later, the 140 m2 boutique opened in September, offering a wide variety of products from the Eastern Townships, including all our fruits and vegetables, meat, dairy products, microbrewery beers, breads and much more. In 2023, our operations extended to include food processing, starting with soups not available during the day in our boutique. Maple products featuring our own syrup will soon be added to the list, with many more items to come!

Benjamin Chabot

Owner, Chief Operating Officer

Benjamin is the crop manager, both in the field and in the greenhouse. He is also the contact with customers and suppliers. He leads a team of 6 employees in the busy season.
